FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following counties, Chesterfield and Henrico. * WHEN...Until 1015 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 709 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen during the past hour. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area in the next 30 to 45 minutes. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Richmond, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Highland Springs, Chester, Varina, Meadowville, Richmond International, Glendale, Richmond Heights, Sandston, Fair Oaks, Montrose and Elko. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
