When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO
10 AM EDT TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations around 2 to 4
inches above 3,000 feet with localized amounts around 6 inches
possible close to 4,000 feet in western Grant County. For
elevations below 3,000 feet, snow accumulations around a coating
to a slushy inch or two are expected. Westerly winds will gust
frequently around 35 to 45 mph.
* WHERE...In Virginia, Western Highland County. In West
Virginia, Western Grant County.
* WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 10 AM EDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of heavy wet snow, strong
winds, and green up on trees will enhance the threat for downed
trees and power outages above 3,000 feet.
