...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO
10 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...For the first Winter Weather Advisory, snow. Additional
snow accumulations of up to two inches at elevations above 3000
feet with a slushy coating below 3000 feet. Winds gusting as
high as 40 mph. For the second Winter Weather Advisory, snow
expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches above 3000
feet with a coating to a slushy inch or two below 3000 feet.
Northwesterly winds gusting as high as 30 to 40 mph.
* WHERE...In Virginia, Western Highland County. In West
Virginia, Western Grant County.
* WHEN...For the first Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 AM EDT
this morning. For the second Winter Weather Advisory, from 7
PM this evening to 10 AM EDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS....The combination of heavy wet snow, strong
winds, and green up on trees will enhance the threat for downed
trees and power outages above 2,500 feet.
