ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD TODAY...
Relative humidity values are forecast to drop into the 20 to 25
percent range from late this morning into early this evening in
far southern New Jersey. A northwest to north wind 10 to 15 MPH
with gusts of 20 to 25 MPH is expected. The anticipated weather
conditions in combination with the recent stretch of dry weather
will result in an elevated risk for the spread of wildfires today.
Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition source, such
as machinery, or cigarettes and matches. Be sure to properly
discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses, dead leaves, or
other tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread
fire quickly.
