At 630 PM EST, radar indicated an intense lake effect snow band along a line extending from near Mentor-On-The-Lake to 6 miles southeast of Conneaut to North East. This intense lake effect snow band was nearly stationary. Travel is difficult to impossible in parts of eastern Lake, northern Ashtabula, and much of Erie County. Large stretches of US 20 and I-90 have been closed in Erie County Pennsylvania. HAZARDS INCLUDE... Winds to 30 mph... Visibility rapidly dropping to less than a quarter of a mile... Snow rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour... Locations impacted include... Erie, Painesville, Ashtabula, Conneaut, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Mentor, Willoughby, Eastlake, Edinboro, Geneva, North East, Madison, Girard, North Kingsville, Perry, Waterford, Albion, Timberlake, and Wattsburg. Travel is strongly discouraged in eastern Lake County, northern Ashtabula County, and much of Erie County this evening.
