Successful completion of a comprehensive training program to include negligence, coding/reserves, general claim handling and negotiation skills. Candidates must be eligible to acquire and maintain a state adjusterís license for appropriate state(s). successful completion a comprehensive training program to include automobile damage estimating, electronic estimating, automobile repair training, and automobile policy composition and analysis. Experience as a claim representative/auto appraiser, public or private investigator or equivalent. Successful completion of a comprehensive training program to include homeowner policy, settlement alternatives and techniques, and industry terminology. Claims experience to include knowledge of policy provisions, principles and concepts related to all phases of homeowners claim handling
Required Education:
Required: College level coursework in business administration, insurance or a related field or the equivalent in related work experience
Position Requirements:
Experience in: operating a personal computer utilizing software packages (e.g. word, excel, access, power point, visio, etc.) Accurately writing manual and electronic estimates developing and conducting training programs on auto physical damage processes evaluating and handling contents claims accurately re-inspecting structural losses before, during and after repair accurately writing manual and electronic estimates on repairable and total loss dwellings knowledge of: essential insurance act fair trade practice act as it relates to claims claims quality standards current claim operations and handling procedures claims terminology and processing systems subrogation procedures project management tools (e.g. issues log, risk assessment, project plans, etc.) Measurement tools for monitoring goal achievement problem identification and resolution techniques litigation process as related to insurance and court procedures negligence, tort and criminal law insurance regulations and salvage acts multiple state legislative environments interstate commerce salvage disposal operation automobile title laws indicators of fraudulent activities industry claim handling procedures related to general and auto physical damage claims automobile nomenclature, construction and repair methods and techniques claim quality service standards as they pertain to auto physical damage indicators of fraudulent activities home construction/repair, product and labor cost and alternative methods of repair industry claim handling procedures related to property claims ability to: analyze and summarize data plan and control work flow perform mathematical calculations to include percentages, fractions and decimals format and prepare written reports communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public prepare and present recommendations to all levels of management work in a team environment coordinate and control the activities of a project team think strategically research, identify and resolve complex business problems research and analyze industry benchmarks and make recommendations analyze and define resource and skill requirements for projects make decisions facilitate team building influence others through oral and written presentations work under pressure safely operate a motor vehicle evaluate and handle large contents claims valid driver's license. Preferred: bachelorís degree in business administration, finance, insurance or related field. Completion of iia (insurance institute of america), cpcu, or other insurance coursework. Successful completion comprehensive training program to include estimating building damage, material and labor determination, nomenclature and construction techniques and commonly used building materials. Underwriting, product development, marketing or sales experience direct repair operation management and facilitation successful completion of basic claim representative training program to include no-fault law, car policy, injury claim handling, medical terminology and interpreting medical reports. Experience in: interpreting medical reports to determine extent of injuries and exposure researching, analyzing and computing complex work loss and survivors loss claims evaluating liability claims based on damages and negligence to determine exposure overseeing litigated claims to conclusion presenting effective and persuasive testimony in civil and criminal litigation as needed knowledge of: industry claim handling procedures related to general injury/liability claims claim quality service standards as they pertain to injury/liability claims human anatomy and medical terminology catastrophic and complex injury claims indicators of fraudulent claim activity
Job Details:
Coordinates, supports and monitors various activities within assigned claim area to ensure success in achievement of goals. Identifies objectives, requirements and evaluates alternatives and achievement of objectives. Integrates activities and resources with other claim initiatives. Provides analytical skill/content knowledge to aid project team staff in the development of innovative and effective recommendations. Provides assistance to claims management in a variety of functions, which may include activities such as monitoring claim activities to ensure adherence to claim practices. Monitors the effectiveness of claims programs, policies, procedures and makes recommendations for improvement and/or correction of deficiencies. Ensures adherence to claim quality service standards and internal controls. Identifies and recommends improvement opportunities in the line, from goal planning through implementation phases. Acts as subject matter expert and participates in the control of compliance process. Regularly researches, analyzes and communicates industry benchmarks and trends to continuously improve claim operations. Develops and monitors cost reductions and/or cost containment measurements. May review claims in assigned area of responsibility (auto physical damage, personal injuries/liability and homeowners).
