Responsibilities

As a supervisor, you will be responsible for performing an independent review and verification of insureds operations/classification upon policy assignment from NCCI or state-specific plan administrators. You will accurately determine the policy premium for Workers Compensation policies by performing preliminary and final audits. This will involve auditing policyholders' books and records through mail, phone, or on-site visits. You will need to operate within the Servicing Carrier Performance Standards and state-specific regulated guidelines.

  • Supervise and oversee a team of 7 employees conducting mail and telephone audits from our home office location in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The supervisor will also oversee daily workflow, manage employees' time off and production, provide new hire and specific procedural training per discipline, handle targeted desk audits, address minor escalation issues, act as a liaison between the manager and team for system issues and procedural review/changes, and conduct quarterly file audits.
  • Act as the primary contact for policyholders throughout the audit process, providing superior customer service, follow-up, education, and explanations of the audit function to help facilitate satisfactory completion of the audit within predetermined timeliness while supervising a team of 7 employees
  • Supervise the review of audit worksheets, payroll journals, distribution journals, tax documentation, and various other ad-hoc reports as needed to determine chargeable exposures in accordance with applicable state laws and manuals
  • Supervise the review of operations of the business through telephone interviews, audit worksheets, file documentation, applications, and Internet searches to validate classifications are properly assigned to the policy in accordance with applicable state laws and manuals
  • Supervise the completion of audit worksheets using an Excel template and the processing of audit findings in our proprietary policy system
Qualifications
  • Candidates should have previous experience in a supervisory role and demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively investigate and analyze policyholders' operations and records.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with policyholders and provide clear explanations of the audit process.
  • Possess advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with proprietary policy systems.
  • Demonstrate strong research skills and the ability to effectively utilize the Internet as a research tool to gather information for audits.
  • Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively to meet audit deadlines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide superior support and assistance to policyholders throughout the audit process.
