Allstate’s Drivewise, a feature within their mobile app that offers usage-based insurance benefits, has proven to significantly enhance road safety among its users. According to research conducted by Allstate and its mobility data partner Arity, Drivewise users are 25% less likely to be involved in severe collisions compared to non-users. The app influences better driving habits by providing feedback on each trip, encouraging users to handle their phones 44% less, speed 23% less, and hard brake 11% less on average than other connected drivers.
These statistics are part of a broader initiative by Allstate to offer rates based on individual driving behaviors, rewarding safer driving with potential savings on auto insurance premiums. This approach not only aligns with Allstate’s commitment to safety but also addresses the urgent need for safer driving practices amid rising motor vehicle fatalities in the U.S., which have increased by 13.6% in 2023 compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The upcoming 16th Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report® will further highlight urban areas with the safest drivers based on criteria such as phone handling, high-speed driving, and hard braking. These insights underline the critical role of innovative insurance tools like Drivewise in promoting safer driving behaviors and reducing road accidents.
