Children’s slides recalled after falls injure 16

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 Liability Subrogation

Children’s playground slides that have contributed to more than a dozen fractured bones of small children are being recalled and consumers are urged to remove the slides. The Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with manufacturer Landscape Structures Inc., of Delano, Minn., announced the recall on Thursday. The children’s slide is known as the Slalom Glider. The CPSC says the slide lacks a transition platform on the top and sides of the chute, causing some children to fall when moving from the ladder to the slide. The agency reports 16 injuries to children younger than 8, including 14 fractures to arms and legs, a fractured collar bone and bruises.
