Kathleen Wilson from Minnesota has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Kevin Molldrem of Molldrem Family Dentistry, accusing him of negligent dental treatment that resulted in significant injuries and disfigurement. The lawsuit, filed in Hennepin County District Court, alleges that during a single visit in July 2020, Wilson received an excessive amount of dental work, including four root canals, eight crowns, and 20 fillings. Additionally, she claims Molldrem administered an unsafe dosage of anesthesia and falsified medical records.

Dr. Avrum Goldstein, a dentist in Florida, provided an expert opinion on Wilson’s case. He affirmed Molldrem’s diagnosis but criticized the quality of treatment, stating that addressing 28 teeth in a 5 1?2-hour session is not humanely possible. Goldstein also noted that the maximum safe dosage of anesthesia is 490 mg, but Wilson was given 960 mg.

Following the treatment, Wilson sought evaluation at a different dental office, revealing recurrent decay and other damage. She received further treatment at the University of Minnesota Dental School to repair and replace many of the restorations.

Wilson seeks at least $50,000 in damages, citing pain, embarrassment, disfigurement, and distress. The case highlights the importance of appropriate dental care and the potential consequences of over-treatment and medical negligence.
