Missouri Roofing Contractor Faces Hefty OSHA Fines for Repeat Safety Violations

H R Vasquez Construction LLC, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is under scrutiny once again as it faces proposed OSHA penalties amounting to $267,332 for a series of safety infractions. These violations were identified at five residential construction sites in Wentzville, Missouri, where the company failed to adhere to mandatory safety protocols. The investigations, which resulted in 13 citations including nine repeat offenses, highlighted the company’s continual negligence in fall protection and other safety measures.

The infractions noted by OSHA include not providing adequate fall protection for employees working above six feet, the absence of eye and face protection for workers using pneumatic tools, and misuse of ladders. Furthermore, the company lacked a written hazard communication program and an accident prevention strategy. Given the construction industry’s high risks, especially from falls which are the leading cause of worker fatalities, these repeated violations point to a significant disregard for worker safety and federal regulations.

This is not the first time H R Vasquez Construction has been cited; since 2021, the company has been penalized seven times for similar safety issues. OSHA’s consistent findings suggest a persistent pattern of neglecting the well-being of its employees. The contractor now has a 15-day window to either comply with the findings, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the citations before an independent commission.
