Tornado Sweeps Through Alma, Georgia

An assistant fire chief in rural Georgia says a tornado swept through the area and destroyed a mobile home, injuring two people inside. Alma assistant fire chief Scotty Boatright said it took emergency crews about a half hour to rescue a woman who became trapped in the rubble of her mobile home. Her husband also had to be rescued after the mobile home was thrown off its foundation and the walls collapsed.The woman had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in Savannah, which is about 90 miles northeast of Alma.
