The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia...
Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg affecting Carroll, Coweta and
Heard Counties.
For the Chattahoochee River Basin...including Whitesburg...Minor
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg.
* WHEN...Until Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 21 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Significant
flooding occurs in the woodlands and fields upstream and
downstream from the gage. The Riverside Park next to the bridge
will be under two feet of water. Flood waters will surround some
homes at the end of Bob Brewster Road. Moore Creek will back up
and flood portions of Payton Road near Cliff Payton Circle. The
water reaches the top of the boat ramp at the day use area and the
top of the steps at the north camping site in the Chattahoochee
Bend State Park.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 4:45 AM EST Friday the stage was 10.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 11.2 feet this morning. It
will then fall to 10.1 feet this evening. It will rise above
flood stage tomorrow evening to 20.8 feet Sunday morning. It
will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning.
- Flood stage is 17 feet.
