Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as
low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed
snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and
snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which
could reach critical levels.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest Maine, including the following
areas, Coastal York and Interior York and New Hampshire, including
the following areas, Belknap, Coastal Rockingham, Eastern
Hillsborough, Interior Rockingham, Merrimack, Northern Carroll,
Southern Carroll, Strafford and Western And Central Hillsborough.
* WHEN...Through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
