Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest Missouri, including the following
county, Barry.
* WHEN...Until 215 PM CDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 212 AM CDT, Flat Creek in Barry County was rising
significantly due to previous rainfall.
- This includes the following low water crossings...
Flat Creek at Highway U, Flat Creek at Highway C, Flat Creek
at Highway Y and Rockhouse Creek at Farm Road 2145.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Purdy, Butterfield, Mcdowell, Jenkins, Madry, Pleasant Ridge
and Wheelerville.
