Northwest winds have increased over the region and gusts have been reaching 40 to near 45 mph at times late this afternoon. The winds will remain breezy through about 7 PM, then diminish after sunset. Though widespread impacts are not expected, north south travel along interstates and highways may be challenging with some of the stronger gusts. High profile vehicles should use caution for the next couple of hours while traveling through this region of Iowa.
