We are always in search of talented individuals to join our team and embark on an exciting career path! Overview: Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is currently seeking an Actuarial Intern to join the Actuarial Department for Summer 2026.
This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in actuarial science through meaningful projects that support our goal to be a leading small business insurance provider nationwide.
Responsibilities As an Actuarial Intern , you will work alongside experienced actuarial professionals and contribute to a range of impactful projects.
Your experience will involve: Supporting pricing, reserving, and/or data science initiatives through assigned projects and analysis.
Applying actuarial and statistical techniques to evaluate our insurance products and assess profitability.
Learning and applying actuarial methods while working with internal and external data sources.
Creating data visualizations using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Presenting findings and insights to Actuarial leadership and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications Enrollment in a four-year degree program for actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field (sophomore level or above preferred).
GPA of 3.0 or higher required.
Completion of an actuarial exam preferred.
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel and/or PowerBI.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with data and statistical analysis performed in SQL, R, and/or Python preferred.
Ability to take initiative and ownership of assigned projects in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
Pay Range: $23-$27 per hour.
The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3 days per week and also be available for travel as required.
The annual hourly range posted represents a broad range of hourly rates around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
