SUMMARY Responsible for providing excellent customer service to Alliant's clients through confidential and professional support and guidance by educating HR and employees about their benefits, acting as a mediator with insurance carriers to resolve claims and benefits issues, and documenting all pertinent information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists Manager with day to day department needs such as work distribution staffing for calls, and recruiting support from other departments during short falls; Acts as point person for escalated issues; Trains new team members and/or cross trains employees; Creates and maintains work processes for the department; Assists clients (HR, employees and covered dependents) in better understanding their benefits; Researches client issues regarding benefits and claims, including contacting insurance companies and provider offices to obtain or provide information, reviewing billing statements and EOB's and working towards resolution of any incorrect processing, and interfacing with vendors when appropriate on eligibility issues; Returns all phone calls and emails promptly; Provides ongoing enrollment/eligibility assistance for clients; Documents all aspects of issues consistently in a timely manner following department standards; Files all paper call logs according to department standards; Assists the Sales and Account Management team in enrollment meetings and benefit fairs; Runs reports on specific clients and/or insurance carriers to illustrate call activity and provides feedback regarding this activity to Alliant team and/or client; Follows all HIPPA requirements specific to department; Attends bi-monthly meetings and participates in group discussions and decisions; Attends all department trainings by outside and Alliant personnel as appropriate; Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information); Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Equivalent combination of education and experience Four (4) or more years of experience in Benefits dealing with eligibility, claims resolution and benefits education, or equivalent SKILLS Excellent verbal and written communications skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Organized planner with time management/prioritization and multi-tasking skills Strong systems knowledge or ability to learn/troubleshoot new systems easily Intermediate to advanced computer skills Proficient in Microsoft Office products #LI-DD1 Interested in working from home?
