Responsibilities The Director of Underwriting Services plays a key role in overseeing all underwriting operations and support functions.
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this position is accountable for establishing the strategic direction, providing leadership, and ensuring efficient management of the organization's underwriting support and compliance activities.
The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, leveraging comprehensive business and workflow expertise to guide functional, operational, and innovation initiatives across the company.
Responsibilities include supervising BCS' producer management and licensing operations, fulfilling compliance requirements, and optimizing the underwriting workflow encompassing underwriting productivity optimization, amplifying efficiency gains, driving performance improvements, data integrity, and performance metric formulation.
This role will adapt as business needs evolve.
Overseeing the strategic direction of underwriting operations to improve efficiency, controls, and operational effectiveness.
Responsible for account servicing processes and technology to improve efficiency in underwriting support functions.
Oversee enhancements to operational procedures that increase automation in submission processing.
Develop and execute the BCS compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and evolving regulatory expectations.
Ensure timely processing of producer appointments, renewals, and terminations, including coordination with state insurance departments and compliance with jurisdictionspecific requirements.
Manage the accuracy and integrity of producer data within internal systems (e.g., APS, Sircon), ensuring all producer records, appointments, agency contracts, and staterequired filings flow through enterprise platforms.
Oversee compliance with all corporate OFAC requirements.
Create and update formalized Compliance Guidelines surrounding producer management, BCS producer licensing and client relationship management.
Work closely with Underwriting, IT and Underwriting Services teams to foster ideas to improve efficiencies with our processes.
Support the executive leadership team during audits, examinations, and internal reviews involving producer licensing documentation or regulatory compliance.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects as required.

Qualifications Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and build strong, collaborative relationships with internal partnersincluding underwriters, underwriting assistants, IT, claims, finance, and premium auditas well as with external partners such as BTS, thirdparty vendors, and other WRBC Operating Units.
Solid knowledge of insurance compliance requirements, including producer management, surplus lines licensing, and OFAC regulations.
Strong continuousimprovement mindset with a focus on enhancing processes, efficiency, and operational quality.
Proven ability to develop and maintain metrics and KPI's, analyze complex issues, and develop effective, compliant solutions.
