Responsibilities The Senior Claims Consultant is responsible for managing a caseload of management liability and professional liability claims of moderate complexity and severity.
This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented professional who can resolve claims efficiently and in accordance with company best practices and authority guidelines.
The consultant will conduct thorough coverage analyses, assess liability and exposure, establish appropriate reserves, and participate in mediations and trials as needed.
Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholdersincluding agents, insureds, and legal counselis essential to ensure high-quality claims handling and exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in management liability claims handling or litigation, preferably as a coverage or employment attorney Direct experience with Employment Practices Liability (EPL) essential.
Experience handling D&O, professional liability or Crime is a plus Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of insurance claims processes and the legal/regulatory environment Proven analytical and decision-making skills within authority limits Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities and seek support when needed Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses within 90 days Collaborative team player with a flexible, solutions-oriented mindset The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.

Additional Requirements The Senior Claims Consultant will be expected to: Analyze liability and damages to establish accurate reserves aligned with potential exposure Evaluate complex coverage issues and draft clear, well-supported coverage position letters Investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims with moderate supervision from the Chief Claims Officer Appoint and manage outside counsel to ensure effective and cost-efficient claim resolution Make sound decisions within assigned authority and escalate matters when appropriate Oversee litigation management, including retaining counsel and approving payments within authority limits Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in compliance with internal claims handling standards Deliver outstanding service to both internal stakeholders and external clients Support underwriting by providing insights into risk exposure and claim trends Identify emerging issues or patterns that may have broader implications for the organization Sponsorship Details Sponsorship not Offered for this Role
