Senior Life Underwriter Location: This position is available to be worked remotely within Tulsa, Oklahoma About the Role A growing life insurance carrier with both domestic and international business is seeking a Senior Life Underwriter. This is a strategic succession planning opportunity with the potential to advance into a Chief Underwriter role. The Senior Life Underwriter will evaluate life insurance applications across both U.S. and international markets and play a key role in risk selection and underwriting strategy. Duties and Responsibilities Analyze life insurance applications, focusing on medical, financial, and other risk-related factors to determine case eligibility. Provide top-tier service to clients and internal teams to ensure timely issue resolution for policyholders and producers. Interpret Medical Information Bureau (MIB) codes and handle MIB reporting accurately. Refer high-limit cases to reinsurers exceeding the automatic treaty limit. Skills & Experience Minimum of 5 years' experience in life insurance underwriting, with strong medical and financial underwriting knowledge. EKG interpretation certification required. Current underwriting authority of at least $250,000. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required. Experience with life insurance back-office operations is a plus. Deep understanding of underwriting philosophies and best practices.
