Responsibilities The senior accountant/analyst is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met. Prepare financial management reports. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close. Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting and control procedures. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Continuous support of budget and forecasted activities. Financial audit preparation and coordination. Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues/expenses. Complete Account Reconciliations Assist with SOX Compliance Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends. Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, and provide strategic recommendations. Special projects as assigned. The Senior Accountant/Analyst may specialize in one area of the accounting function. Additional specific tasks may include the following: Compile and analyze financial statements Prepare monthly and quarterly exhibits and schedules Calculate and prepare monthly journal entries Analysis monthly data Prepare required and requested reinsurance statistics and exhibits Prepare and file insurance regulatory reports May perform other functions as assigned Qualifications Five plus years of relevant accounting experience Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles Strong PC skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office products Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to improve work processes Ability to manage a special project team Team player with initiative Education B.S.
