Summary The Vice President of Personal Lines Strategy & Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the growth, operational performance, and strategic execution of the Smart Start Personal Lines business.

This role partners closely with the SVP of Personal Lines to translate organizational priorities into actionable initiatives that improve agency engagement, carrier relationships, product performance, and operational efficiency.

The VP will lead cross-functional initiatives across distribution, analytics, carrier management, and operations to ensure the Personal Lines business delivers strong growth, profitability, and agent value.

Key

Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Partner with the SVP to develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Smart Start Personal Lines.

Identify growth opportunities across carriers, products, and agency distribution channels.

Lead strategic initiatives that drive production growth, retention, and operational efficiency.

Translate high-level strategy into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes.

Business Performance Management Own reporting and performance monitoring for Personal Lines production, profitability, and agency engagement.

Work with analytics teams to develop actionable insights that guide business decisions.

Identify trends, opportunities, and risks within carrier partnerships and product performance.     Carrier & Partner Strategy Collaborate with carrier partners to expand product offerings and improve program competitiveness.

Evaluate carrier performance and identify opportunities to deepen strategic partnerships.

Support negotiations and program development with carrier leadership.

Agency Growth & Engagement Develop initiatives that help Smart Start agencies grow their Personal Lines books of business.

Partner with field leadership and agency success teams to improve agent adoption and engagement.

Ensure programs, tools, and resources support agency production and retention goals.

Operational Excellence Oversee key operational processes supporting Personal Lines programs.

Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and service efficiency.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a key member of the Personal Lines leadership team.

Work closely with teams across Data & Analytics, Agency Success, Technology, Marketing, and Carrier Relations.

Lead and mentor team members responsible for analytics, program execution, and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience 10+ years of experience in insurance, preferably Personal Lines. 5+ years in leadership roles managing teams or strategic initiatives.

Experience working with independent agent distribution models is strongly preferred.

Background in carrier relations, product strategy, operations, or business analytics is highly desirable.

Skills Strong strategic thinking and business planning capabilities.

Ability to translate data insights into operational action.

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.

Strong communication and executive presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes.
