Dry Pipe Sprinkler Systems and How They Can Fail

This presentation will provide adjusters and legal professionals with an overview of fire protection sprinkler systems, with a specific focus on dry-pipe sprinkler systems. The presentation will cover how sprinkler systems operate and, for dry-pipe systems, how they are drained. It will introduce adjusters and legal professionals to key legal requirements governing sprinkler systems. The presentation will cover two of the most common failure mechanisms, freeze failures and corrosion, with pictorial examples of each. Finally, the presentation will cover two less common types of failures: pipe pitch issues and power failures.
