Hurricane Beryl formed early Friday morning (July 6) in the Atlantic Ocean, forecasters said. Its the first hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic season. Beryls "small" eye became apparent in infrared satellite pictures early Friday morning, the National Hurricane Center said. As of 4 a.m., Beryl was 1,140 miles east-southeast of the Lesser Antilles and moving west at 14 mph. It had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. On the forecast track, the center of Beryl will remain east of the Lesser Antilles through early Sunday.
