3 Cars Stuck Underwater In San Francisco Underpass

Thursday, December 4th, 2014 Auto

Crews are cleaning up from overnight rain that swallowed three cars underneath Interstate Highway 101 at the Cesar Chavez exit in San Francisco. The cars were stuck underwater at about 4 a.m. At least one driver said he had to swim to safety. The other two drivers managed to escape safely. One driver said it was “a hell of a night,” and he’ll spend the rest of the day making calls to his insurance company. City crews will be spending the rest of the morning cleaning out the drains to help the water recede.
