A convenience store in Albany, N.Y., was shut down by state officials July 17 as part of a new get-tough policy against businesses that don’t comply with workers’ compensation laws. Sabah Food Mart at 280 Central Ave. had ignored an order from the state Workers’ Compensation Board to repay $46,853 in restitution and penalties after a store employee was injured in 2003 and collected $12,264 in medical benefits, according to board chairwoman Donna Ferrara.
