The governor of Arizona authorized over $1.2 million dollars for the Arizona State Land Department for the state to prepare for the upcoming wildfire season in the the state’s lower elevations. Because the unusually wet winter has spread vegetation growth throughout the lower elevations, fire officials are concerned because this type of vegetation can easily spread a wildfire because of the way the plants and brush will burn.
