Beer truck crashes into Manatee River as thunderstorms move through area

Northbound traffic along Interstate 75 in Manatee County was slowed Thursday morning due to a overturned semitruck that crashed into the Manatee River just before Highway 301. The crash happened as a thunderstorm was moving across the Manatee County area. Officials say the rainy weather played a role in the crash as well as driver error. "It’s weather, along with driver error. He just failed to maintain control of the truck," said Lt. Chris Miller.
