Firefighters in Laurens County batted a blaze at one of their own fire stations on Thursday, but the department and its equipment inside were lost. A spokesman with Laurens County Fire Services said Ekom Fire Department on Neely Ferry Road caught fire with their trucks still inside. Fire departments from the surrounding areas were called in to battle the fully involved blaze. At one point, the entire building was on fire with flames shooting through the roof.
