Bronx car-insure ’scammers’ crashed
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 Auto FraudA ring of 16 scammers has been busted for bilking more than $300,000 from insurance companies, authorities said yesterday. The suspects, arraigned yesterday in Bronx Criminal Court, allegedly collected on bogus claims filed with GEICO, Allstate, GMAC, Liberty Mutual and Progressive. They were arrested over the last five days. Cops are still looking for five alleged accomplices, authorities said.
