Brooklyn Street Collapses Into Massive Sinkhole

"Five minutes earlier and I would have been in the sinkhole in my car!" That’s what Annette Flood told PIX 11 News. Mrs. Flood and her daughter Maddie couldn’t believe their good luck. They’d just gotten out of their Chevy five minutes earlier and when they came back out of their house, their car was teetering on the edge of a 15-foot deep sinkhole, on 79th street between 4th and 5th Avenues, about to be swallowed up. "I went in to get my dog to walk her, " Mrs. Flood said, "and when I came back out, my car was almost in the sinkhole."
