Fraud rings are quickly growing in sophistication and frequency. Gypsy groups roam the nation, fraudulently making dozens of auto and slip-and-fall claims, moving onto the next unsuspecting state when insurance companies become too nosy. Groups of people work together staging accidents based on their having the same ethnic or religious background, living on the same floor in an apartment complex, or because they simply know one another and have the same criminal intent of wanting a fast dollar for minimal work. Regardless of the basis of their ties, they can cost policyholders, insurance companies, and adjusting companies thousands, and even millions, of dollars.
