Car Fire Melts Siding Off Of Denver Home

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016 Auto Property

A family in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood is safe after an early morning fire damaged their home. Firefighters received a call just before 3 a.m. about a car fire that had extended into a house on Ceylon Street. Crews were able to douse the flames quickly, and determined the car was leaking fuel which lit up the engine. The couple said their 2013 blue Hyundai Elantra was driven Monday evening, and sat for awhile before catching fire. They were able to make it out of the home in time, grabbing their two small children and pets, thanks to smoke detectors and neighbors who called the fire department.
