For the second year running, Risk & Insurance®, sponsored by Healthesystems, canvassed attendees of the National Workers Compensation and Disability Conference© & Expo to determine what trends and challenges theyre focused on for the year ahead.
A total of 669 people responded, representing every corner of the workers comp industry TPAs, PBMs, hospitals and other medical providers, employers, insurers, brokers and regulatory authorities.
Some of their top concerns remained consistent with last years findings rising cost of care and claim complexity, for example but other concerns made a conspicuous jump to the top of the list.
The top concern among workers comp professionals was changing workforce demographics primarily, the rising average age of the American employee.
