Claims roll in after storm

As 3 p.m. ticked by Tuesday afternoon, Lillian Fritch couldn't remember if she had taken lunch or not. Fritch, who runs Lillian Fritch Insurance Company, handles crop insurance in eight southeast Nebraska counties as well as four northeast Kansas counties. After a severe thunderstorm Sunday evening dropped tennis and golf ball-sized hail on farmland stretching three to five miles wide over Lancaster, Gage, Johnson and Pawnee counties, Fritch had received over 100 claims from farmers whose crops were nearly destroyed by the storm.
