Firefighters across the state Friday are continuing to battle wildfires in extremely windy and dry conditions on fires that expanded overnight, emergency management officials report. A massive wildfire, located 4.5 miles northwest of Woodward, has burned up to 130,000 acres, destroyed two homes and forced evacuations, Oklahoma Emergency Management reports. Matt Lehenbauer, Woodward County Emergency Management director, said Friday morning that the Woodward fire expanded by about 15,000 acres or more overnight. "It has been a long night. We have relief crews coming in now to help from northeast Oklahoma," Lehenbauer said.
