Deli Famous For Dagwood Sandwich Destroyed By Fire
Friday, January 2nd, 2015 PropertyA South Side institution famous for its massive Dagwood sandwich burned to the ground this morning. Columbus firefighters were called to the Ohio Deli & Restaurant, 3444 S. High St. at Williams Road, about 3:15 a.m. after smoke was seen billowing from the building, a dispatcher said. Because of the intensity of the fire, firefighters used a defensive strategy and didnt try to enter the building, emergency-radio communications indicated. Heather Hejduk has owned Ohio Deli with her husband, Eric, for 19 years. Everything was destroyed, she said.
