Detroit Firefighter Injured on The Job

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014 Property Workers' Compensation

A firefighter has been injured on the job on Detroit’s east side. A fire crew was battling a blaze at the old Fisher Body plant at Harper and Piquette. The view from SkyFOX showed the firefighter up in the ladder bucket Wednesday morning when part of the building began to collapse. That’s when the firefighter fell from the bucket. How he fell is unclear at this time. Detroit Fire Commissioner Craig Dougherty says the firefighter may have jumped, though, when he saw the building begin to collapse. The firefighter has been transported to the hospital.
