Driver dies in school bus crash in NM
Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 AutoA driver died Monday morning in northern New Mexico after his school bus barreled down an embankment with nine children aboard. The accident happened along a two-mile stretch of State Road 111, about four miles north of La Madera. State road 111 twists and turns and embankments are steep. Authorities said the school bus plunged nearly 100 feet. The crash happened a few miles from a school. “The bus was coming to the school this morning and was negotiating a turn and somehow went off the road,” state police Sgt. Emmanuel Gutierrez said.
