Defense lawyers for a former state Superior Court judge accused of insurance fraud rested their case without calling him to testify in his own defense. Michael T. Joyce of Erie is accused of cheating two insurance companies out of $440,000 by filing false claims asserting that he suffered serious injuries following a low-speed car accident in 2001.
