The woman killed in an explosion Monday at a Benson-area home was a property inspector who had gone there to check its condition after the evicted tenant had cleared out. The explosion, which occurred shortly after noon, obliterated the house at 3858 N. 65th St., knocked others off their foundations, shook a wide area of Benson and left at least two people injured, including a neighbor pinned in debris. Killed was Clara Bender, according to Omaha police. She died after being taken to the Nebraska Medical Center. Bender, 30, was an inspector for Certified Property Management, said Jeremy Aspen, the company’s president.
