February Storm Caused $40 Million In Loss In Ohio
Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 Auto PropertyThe winter storm that slammed Ohio Feb. 16-22 caused $40 million in insured losses statewide, and the final loss estimates from the January 2014 polar vortex reached $172.7 million, the Ohio Insurance Institute announced Friday. Despite the February storm that brought heavy snows, high winds, ice and extreme cold, Ohio was spared from any significant insurance catastrophes in the winter of 2014-15, which may help hold down the accelerating rate of premium increases in future years.
