Firefighter Lost Battling Ohio Apartment Fire

A Cincinnati firefighter, rushed to the hospital after he was injured battling a four-alarm fire in Madisonville, has died from his injuries. Mayor John Cranley’s spokesman identified the fallen firefighter as Daryl Gordon, 54. Firefighters were called to the King Towers Apartments on Dahlgren Street at about 5:30 a.m. The mayday call went out and Gordon was carried out on a stretcher after falling down an elevator shaft. Several other firefighters were holding his hands. Fire chief Richard Braun had said the firefighter was in "dire straights" and he asked for prayers for the firefighter and his family.
