Firefighters from North Texas are joining the fight against wildfires in the Texas Panhandle that have killed four people and threatened hundreds of homes. The largest fire, in Lipscomb and Ochiltree counties in the northeast corner of the Panhandle, was nearly 300,000 acres and just 5 percent contained around noon Tuesday, the Texas A&M Forest Service reported. That fire killed one person Monday, but officials did not provide any other details. Three ranch hands were killed Monday in a fire in Gray County, east of Amarillo, as they tried to save cattle from the approaching flames.
