Police are searching for a thief who stole more than $94,000 worth of jewelry from a handful of homes in Greenwich Village. The man is suspected in six burglaries since January 20, police said. Police said in the most recent incident on April 1, he entered an unlocked home near West 11th Street and Fifth Avenue between 1:30 and 3:45 a.m. while the homeowners were asleep inside. He allegedly stole a jewelry box and jewelry worth a total of $50,000 before taking off. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
