Hail Storm In Vermilion County, Illinois Causes Major Damage To Cars

After speaking to some people in Tilton, they said they’ve never seen anything like this.There’s so much damage to their cars because of the hail. They said it could’ve been worse.

"It came down really fast before you had a chance to realize it was coming," Karie Palmer said. Palmer was at work at ResCare HomeCare Thursday afternoon when all of a sudden "We had golf ball size hail and that’s probably the biggest I’ve seen," Palmer said.

Then she walked outside. "I realized the whole back was broke and the front windshield was cracked," she said. "I was not happy and couldn’t believe that happened to the back windshield. All this damage came from hail.

Just up the street is Toyota of Danville. The dealership has been open since 2002. "We had storms come through and blow through, never seen anything like this," said General Manager Bob Oltean.
