Homes in Cache Valley evacuated after floods

Monday, May 16th, 2011 Property

Nine homes were evacuated and dozens without power Sunday morning after a sandbag wall failed in a Logan subdivision. At around 9:30 a.m., a wall of sandbags failed, causing the overflowing Blacksmith Fork River to wash through the Country Manor subdivision. Nine homes had basements and yards flooded, forcing evacuations. After the discovery of a transformer submerged by water, officials shut off power to the neighborhood, putting 68 homes without power for several hours.
