Hydrants Buried By Snow Hamper Firefighters
Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 PropertyA building close to the Ipswich fire station went up in flames early Tuesday morning, but firefighters were slowed down by several hydrants that were buried in snow banks. They were called to a two-and-a-half story building on Central Street, across the street from the fire department, around 5:30 a.m.The fire quickly reached three alarms. The building, which had a flooring company on the first floor and apartments upstairs, was destroyed. One resident woke the other two people who were asleep inside. All three escaped safely.
