Tuesday, January 28th, 2014 — Several people were forced out into the cold after a suspicious fire tore through their Kansas City, Kan., home. The fire happened Monday night shortly after 8 p.m. near 10th and Rowland. When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in heavy flames and smoke. The fast-moving fire spread to homes on both sides. Nearly 30 firefighters worked to get the fire under control. Crews had to fight it in the defensive mode because there was a threat of the house collapsing.
